Every team has "camp guys" players they sign that do not have a chance to make the team but are needed to run all the practices. This is like the Chargers signing Gates. I am not saying they will do as well but getting players that will not make it as a pro in their sport that have some skills that could transfer over to the NFL. It is worth the chance.
