Why isn't this offense more effective? It looks to me that there are two main problems.
1) Childress is not doing a good job of calling plays or managing the game in general. I like the fact that he sticks with the run, especially given the fact that the ground game has yet to kick in at full swing. I even like some of the unconventional plays he's called in certain key situations. But overall, many of the fans are left scratching their heads during much of the game when the offense isn't able to move the ball because of very questionable strategies. It may be time to give the playcalling responsibility to Bevell, the guy who spends all of his time working with the offense...

not sure that I would entirely agree with the comment that Childress has stuck with the run either.
Last week against the Bills, a team whos biggest defensive weakness was the running game, we only had 13 called running plays (and 3 QB scrambles)
Childress' only claim to fame when it comes to designing and calling offenses was being Andy Reid's goffer the last four years, and I really think he needs to admit that he is in over his head and give up control of that side of the ball.
He's a great "detail" guy and that makes him a good head coach, but he needs to admit that he's better as an administrator then he is a X's and O's guy.
The DED (dink em dizzy) offense is just that, dead! It lacks imagination and doesn't appear to know how to attack the other teams weaknesses. There are (appearantly) a limited number of plays in the offense, and unless the other team happens to have a weakness against them, it won't gain anything but yardage between the 20's
