Numbnutts, is it ok if I call you numbnutts? Owens was not T.O. until he became known as one of the best receivers in the league, up to that point he was a good oyung talent that worked hard and made plays, then hi head got big and we traded him away. We could not afford to keep Rice, and Rice was not ready to stop playing, his heart stayed in SF, but he kept playing in other places even though he was aged. Lloyd had potential but he had a douchebag in Erickson trying to coach him, he was overrated, but was drafted as a number 2 or 3 receiver and ended up being number 1 because of Erickson. I am not saying York is doing a good job, he isnt. DeBartalo is the one that f-ed the franchise for a while putting us in salary cap hell, making it hard to get highly paid players. The Ronnie Lott idea is interesting because there are very few players in teh league that play like Ronnie Lott, its not like there is 3 or 4 in every draft class. Before we build a secondary we have to build a pass rush, which is looking increasingly better with some young players. You being a carpenter or whatever you are should know that you have to start with a foundation. Everything, whether it is on offense or defense relies on the strength of the line, and builds around that. Also, it is hard to compare us now with the great franchise years, as the only coach around now close to the caliber of Bill Walsh is Bellichek. Nolan is a decent coach, im not going to call him a good coach until he has us in te playoffs this year or next year, he is definately better than Erickson though.

Is it OK if I call you Dip**** since I call LTF Learn to ****? I know Owens was a good WR, but look what happened at the end? That's why I called him that name because he left the team in a selfish matter and kept us in the toilet. If a player had to leave for whatever reason, a new player should be ready to go. Well in the case of Owens leaving, we had nobody on WR to pick up the slack. As for Jerry Rice, I still feel he should've retired as a Raider for I never forgave him for abandoning our team.
From what I have seen in several different teams winning a Superbowl: I see 4 in the 4-3 rushing the QB. I see LBs hurling themselves to stop big plays. I see Secondary doing everything to stop big plays. I see young QBs trying out there, and being protected by a good line/ I See trying WRs. I see good running game. Do I see any of that on the 49ers to get us to the Superbowl? No. Maybe there's some life, but it's not there if you can't beat the likes of the Eagles. I don't see any pass rush on our front 4. It's like only B Young can play out there, the others are like out to lunch. NEver mind mentioning DOugles or Issac, they remind me of Carter and Engelberger. They should be working harder to get to the QB or generate a rush, they don't provide either. D SMith can't rush the QB and neither can Ulbrich. Spencer and Harris are OK at Secondary, but what about the Safeties out there? Even if our CB is doing a job, the others are not doing theirs. Smith needs bigger numbers, but I still think he's doing better then last year, but I still feel the numbers are too low to establish something.
It's inexcusable not to have a pass rush for 7 years. The problems on the team should've been fixed last year, not in the middle of the season. Real teams fix problems within 4 years, not 7.
As for the moving, I can officially put the blame on the city of SF. I was so insulted by what they want to do for the 49ers. It's a sick joke that the city insists on this garage and only have 3500 tailgating out of 9000 or so that park there. It's a joke they think that the train and bus will help out, when it'll just be packed like a sardine and getting to the games late. If this is the appreciation Twosome Newsome has for our 49ers, I'm glad now we're moving to Santa Clara. I hope Newsome loses by a landslide next year.
