Michael Griffen
Showing up: First-round pick Michael Griffin had a night to remember, and something to forget. The rookie cornerback intercepted two passes and returned a kickoff 40 yards. It was the first time he'd returned a kick since high school.
"I think it was a lot easier this week, the nervousness is gone and you can just go out there and play,'' Griffin said.
Griffin's teammates likely won't remember the return as much as who tackled him — kicker Stephen Gostkowski.
"The kicker came out of nowhere; I felt like a deer in headlights,'' Griffin said with a smile. "It is funny because I was making fun of Cortland (Finnegan) all week about getting hit by the punter last week, and then all of a sudden … I get stood up at the 40. It looked bad on my part.''
