I've been telling my fellow Bears fans that if they're going to suck, embrace it. At least get a decent draft pick out of the whole ordeal. No point in being mediocre and having a mediocre pick. Chad's too broken by now for me to want him on the Bears, and although I can say the same thing about McNabb, he's had more success and is more attractive. We made that mistake once before with Kordell, so I don't know if Angelo is willing to take that risk this time around. Derek Anderson hasn't started enough for me to say he's the messiah of the Chicago NFL Bears, so only time will tell. As far as I'm concerned, Griese is an older version of Rex. He's been out there a few times and has yet to prove that he gives the Bears the best chance of winning. Kyle Orton didn't do too bad as a rookie, but he wasn't spectacular either. He MIGHT be able to manage the game, but you need a playmaker back there to go along with that stellar defense. Grossman proved last week that keeping that D off the field is the key to their success. Not only to score more points and hold the ball, but to keep their beasts fresh for the feast. As it is now, Tillman, Harris, Vasher, Briggs, and a few other starters are looking at a possibility of not suiting up for Chicago's first divisional foe. It's a scary thought this week considering the amount of points the Lions have been putting on the board. Hopefully, this game will give us a clue as to what to expect for the rest of the season, whether it be bad or good.
