Default Fantasy Football Last minute updates

Washington Redskins Inactives: QB Mark Brunell (3rd QB), DB David Macklin, LB Marcus Washington, G Mike Pucillo, DT Ryan Boschetti, G Randy Thomas, T Kevin Sampson, WR Brandon Lloyd.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Inactives: QB Luke McCown (3rd QB), RB Michael Pittman, LB Jeremiah Trotter, LB Patrick Chukwurah, LB Quincy Black, G Dan Buenning, WR Michael Clayton, DE Greg Spires.

San Francisco 49ers Inactives: QB Shaun Hill (3rd QB), WR LeRon McCoy, RB Frank Gore, CB Walt Harris, FS Keith Lewis, G Tony Wragge, T Jonas Jennings, DT Atiyyah Ellison.

San Diego Chargers Inactives: QB Charlie Whitehurst (3rd QB), CB Paul Oliver, LB Anthony Waters, C Nick Hardwick, WR Malcom Floyd, WR Craig Davis, TE Scott Chandler, LB Shaun Phillips.

Jets WR Laveranues Coles (concussion) did not practice this week and it’s no surprise he’s been ruled out today as the Jets medical staff went the safe route. With Coles inactive, Jerricho Cotchery will need to step up and could be targeted more this week.

Jets Inactives: QB Marques Tuiasosopo (3rd QB), CB Drew Coleman, FB Darian Barnes, T Adrian Jones, TE Jason Pociask, WR Laveranues Coles, TE Sean Ryan, DT C.J. Mosley.

SF has listed Frank Gore as out!

With RB Frank Gore out, the 49ers will need to lean on RBs Michael Robinson and Maurice Hicks to carry the load. Robinson has more power in short yardage situations and Hicks is more of a quick scat-back type runner.

For the Titans, RB LenDale White is active and so is rookie RB Chris Henry. RB Chris Brown is not.

Titans RB LenDale White starts as he missed practice Friday with a minor toe problem. With veteran RB Chris Brown out, look for the Titans rookie RB Chris Henry to again backup White.

Chiefs Inactives: QB Tyler Thigpen (3rd QB), CB Rashad Barksdale, T Herbert Taylor, T Kyle Turley, WR Bobby Sippio, WR Eddie Kennison, DT DeMarcus Tyler, LB Keyaron Fox.

Vikings Inactives: QB Kelly Holcomb (3rd QB), DB Mike Doss, CB Antonie Winfield, FB Naufahu Tahi, TE Garrett Mille, T Chase Johnson, WR Troy Williamson, DE Jayme Mitchell.

Gore is out. He'd been a game time decision but has been ruled out.

Lions Inactives: QB Dan Orlovsky (3rd QB), RB Tatum Bell, DB Dovonte Edwards, G Blaine Saipaia, G Manny Ramirez, DE Ikaika Alama-Francis, DE Kalimbe Edwards, CB Tony Beckham.

Packers Inactives: TE Bubba Franks, DT Justin Harrell, WR Ruvell Martin, CB Will Blackmon, LB Desmond Bishop, G Junius Coston, DT Colin Cole, DT Daniel Muir.

KC has ruled WR Eddie Kennison out. With WR Kennison (hamstring) out, that continues to be good news for WR Dwayne Bowe managers.

Cardinals Inactives: LB Karlos Dansby, QB Tim Hasselbeck, SS Oliver Celestin, FB Tim Castille, DE Joe Tafoya, G Keydrick Vincent, TE Ben Patrick, DT Ross Kolodziej.

Atlanta Falcons Inactives: QB Byron Leftwich, RB Artose Pinner, LB Stephen Nicholas, T Terrance Pennington, T Harvey Dahl, OL D'Anthony Batiste, DT Tim Anderson and TE Alge Crumpler.

With Crumpler out, WRs Roddy White and Michael Jenkins will need to step up.

Even with Rudi Johnson active, Kenny Watson is getting his 5th straight start at running back for the Bengals. It remains unclear how Coach Lewis will split the workload once the game starts.

Saints Inactives: WR Robert Meachem, DB Jay Bellamy, CB Fred Thomas, C Jeff Faine, LB Scott Shanle, G Andy Alleman, DT Brian Young, TE Ronnie Ghent.

Jaguars Inactives: QB David Garrard (3rd QB), K Josh Scobee, RB LaBrandon Toefield, CB Brian Williams, LB Justin Durant, DT Derek Landri, G Uche Nwaneri, TE Gregory Estandia.

Broncos Inactives: RB Mike Bell, DB Curome Cox, FS John Lynch, DT Amon Gordon, DT Isaac Snell, WR Javon Walker, TE Chad Mustard, DE Jarvis Moss.

Key Vikings inactives include QB Kelly Holcomb and WR Troy Williamson. Reminder, we have learned the Vikings coaches are expecting to use Tight End Vishante Shiancoe more this week including in the red zone. With leading WR Bobby Wade not 100% and deep threat Troy Williamson out with personal reasons, Shiancoe is the main receiving threat for the Vikings and he makes for an interest start in the FFTOC.

Panthers Inactives: QB Vinny Testaverde, LB Dan Morgan, LB Donte Curry, DE Stanley McClover, OL Frank Omiyale, DE Charles Johnson, OL Evan Mathis, WR Dwayne Jarrett.

BENGALS INACTIVES: WR Skyler Green, CB David Jones, LB Ahmad Brooks, LB Caleb Miller, LB Landon Johnson, OT Willie Anderson, DT John Thornton. Jeff Rowe is listed as the 3rd QB.

The Washington Post reports: backup WR Brandon Lloyd did not travel with the team to New Jersey to play the Jets.

NOTE: Patriots TE Benjamin Watson (ankle questionable) did not practice Friday. Watson is a game time call. Not official, but ESPN is reporting Watson is expected to play. This is great news for the Patriots but this does take some redzone looks away from Moss, Welker, Stallworth and backup TE Kyle Brady.

BILLS INACTIVES: QB Trent Edwards, CB Ashton Youboty, LB Leon Joe, TE/OL Matt Murphy, WR Sam Aiken, DE Copeland Bryan, DT Jason Jefferson. Fred Jackson is listed as the 3rd QB.

ESPN: John Clayton reports Gore very unlikely to play today.

ESPN: John Clayton just said on ESPN he doesn't think Harrison will play today.

Watson "Likely to play" per Palantonio on Countdown.

**********

JP Losman starts today for the Bills against the Bengals. Trent Edwards was listed as doubtful on Friday.

The Raiders say they will go back to Josh McCown and give him the start today. Daunte Culpepper is expected to be their #2 QB against the Texans.

Vishante Shiancoe should see more looks this week including in the red zone. With leading WR Bobby Wade not 100% and Troy Williamson out with personal reasons, Shiancoe is the main receiving threat for the Vikings this week.

Todd Heap practiced Saturday, but, regardless what Heap did Saturday, Coach Billick called Heap a game-time decision.

Ben Watson is a game time call today. They kick off at 4:15 PM ET.

Frank Gore is a game time call due to his ankle.

Rudi Johnson and Watson are probable for the game today. Out of respect to the veteran, don’t be surprised if Johnson starts, assuming he’s not ruled out.

The Texans have hinted at using a three-headed monster at RB today with Ahman Green, Ron Dayne and Adimchinobe Joe Echemandu all in the mix.

Brandon Stokley was added to the injury report on Friday but is still listed as probable.

Ronald Curry is listed as questionable but Curry says he’ll play.

Andre Johnson has been ruled out for today according to Coach Kubiak.

Marvin Harrison is an iffy game time call.

Ignore the ill-informed reports of doom. Yes, Harrison is less than 100% with that nasty bruised knee he suffered on the RCA dome floor (and let's quit calling it turf when it's this hard). It's going to slow him some, but he's not a speed guy. He's a precise route-runner who has some mystical talent for getting open then psychically connecting with Peyton Manning to let him know he's just this open. The transition from Harrison to Reggie Wayne is complete, but don't take that as irrelevance or even a step back. Wayne's as good as Harrison, transitioning like Jerry Rice did from Dwight Clark (or more aptly, from Rice to Terrell Owens.) Harrison will find a way to be a big part of this game, even if he's on a play count.

With starting cornerbacks Chris McAlister and Samari Rolle for the Ravens' all but ruled out, look for a big night from big ben.

FoxSports: The Panthers are stuck with David Carr at quarterback because Vinny Testaverde remains hampered by a strained Achilles' tendon. Carr must start finding WR Steve Smith in order for Deangelo Williams and Deshaun Foster to have any chance against the NFL's best run defense.

FoxSports: There is a good chance Bengals RB Rudi Johnson will play but split the carries with Kenny Watson . Johnson has missed three games with a hamstring injury.

ESPN: The surging Browns, winners of two straight games for the first time since 2003, will face the Seahawks on Sunday without leading tackler D'Qwell Jackson, who is expected to miss at least two weeks with a left ankle injury. The second-year veteran inside linebacker, one of the Browns' few consistent defenders against the run, sustained a high ankle sprain in last week's victory over the Rams and did not practice all week.

FoxSports: It looks like Seattle will only return receiver D.j. Hackett as Deion Branch (sprained foot) failed to practice much of the week. Matt Hasselbeck, who was struggling prior to the bye week, hasn't had a full complement of receivers since the season.

FoxSports: Gore, who has a sprained right ankle, didn't look good on Saturday and the club is saying he's a game-time decision.

Baltimore Sun: Tight end Todd Heap (strained hamstring) practiced (Saturday), but Billick said Heap would be a game-time decision.

Baltimore Sun: Coach Brian Billick all but ruled out cornerbacks Chris McAlister and Samari Rolle for the Ravens' showdown with the AFC North-leading Pittsburgh Steelers Monday night. McAlister, who is dealing with a strained right knee, and Rolle, who missed his second straight practice tonight due to a reoccurrence of the illness that contributed to him missing three games earlier this season. But asked if he expected either starting cornerback to play against the Steelers, Billick said, "Doubtful. Very doubtful."

Boston Herald on Corey Dillon reports: Don't know if the Pats want him. But he wants the Pats. At least, that's what Corey Dillon 's agent, Steven Feldman conveyed a short while ago. "He would absolutely, positively be interested in coming back to play for the Patriots,"

ESPN: Colts WR Harrison has been told his knee pain is likely to persist through the remainder of the season and perhaps for the rest of his career, a source said Friday. Specialists who have examined Harrison do not view surgery as a viable option because there is no guarantee of success and would require six months of rehabilitation. Colts HC Dungy said Harrison has been medically cleared to play Sunday against New England. Harrison is urging the coaches to let him do just that. But Dungy wants to make the best decision for the whole season, not just one midseason game. The Colts issued a statement Friday regarding Harrison's status. "The Indianapolis Colts have received no medical opinion" that verifies chronic trouble in Harrison's knee, the statement said. Harrison is officially listed as questionable for the game.

ESPN: Starting WR Troy Williamson , who missed the entire week of practice with the Vikings for personal reasons, will not play in Sunday's game against the Chargers as he continues to prepare for the Monday funeral of his grandmother.

ESPN: Titans rookie HB Chris Henry has been notified he faces a four-game suspension for testing positive for a banned substance. Official notification is expected to be received Saturday, and Henry will have five days to decide if he wishes to appeal. Any appeal would delay the suspension until tests are verified and determined if they are valid. According to a source, the substance is not considered performance enhancing and a year ago was not on the banned list. Henry, 22, apparently took a prescription medication that contained a component included on the NFL's list of banned substances. The NFLPA and the NFL add new substances each year. The pending suspension, first reported by The NFL Network, was confirmed by two league sources on Friday night. Henry's agents Steve Feldman and Josh Luchs were unavailable for comment.
