Default Browns: Quinn disputes allegations

Browns: Quinn disputes allegations of involvement in altercation
Thursday, February 14, 2008 5:47 AM

Cleveland Browns quarterback Brady Quinn denied allegations yesterday of getting into an altercation with men outside a Columbus bar in the early morning of New Year's Day.

The Plain Dealer of Cleveland reported that a 911 call was placed saying "Brady Quinn from the Browns (was) trying to cause a fight." The call also said Quinn called the person a homosexual slur in front of La Fogata Grill at 790 N. High St., next door to the Union Cafe Bar + Food, a gay bar.

In a statement released by the Browns, Quinn said he was not involved in any disputes.

"On New Year's Eve I had dinner at a local restaurant with my girlfriend and several other couples," Quinn said. "At no time that night was I involved in a verbal or physical altercation, nor did I have any interaction with the police."

A statement from the Browns said, "We are aware of the alleged comments made by Brady Quinn, which the Browns take seriously. After speaking with Brady and his representatives, we find these reported accusations without merit."
