So many fans these days think Jerry Rice is the greatest wide receiver of all-time. Sure he has all of the records, and I cannot deny his greatness. Rice may be the best of all-time, but I think
Don Hutson is on par with Rice.
Hutson set records in short seasons and a short career that took over 40 years to break. He was so dominant in his era, that no wide receiver since has been more dominant in their own era. In fact it isn't even close.
During his 1942 season, he either doubled or tripled the next guy in receptions, yards, and touchdowns. Jerry Rice never accomplished that.
