Default Giants sign Clark to a 2 year deal

March 13, 2008
Clark on board after all
BY Ralph Vacchiano

Late last night, free-agent linebacker Danny Clark officially signed with the Giants. It took a little longer than expected because he apparently got an offer from the Oakland Raiders, whom he had visited earlier in the week. But in the end, he chose the Giants.

Terms of his deal are not immediately available.

UPDATE: It appears Clark signed a two-year deal worth about $4 million, making it a pretty good bargain. The devil is in the details, so until we see them it’s hard to determine what the 2008 cap hit will be. It’s a good bet, though, that it’s somewhere around $1.5-2 million. The Giants were down to $10.1 million in cap space after the David Carr signing, so they’re almost certainly now down in the $8-9 million range.
