Injury Updates on Reggie, Meachem, and Vilma
Quote:
Saints MLB Jonathan Vilma says his recovery from reconstructive knee surgery is right on schedule.
Vilma had the procedure done in November and should be ready for training camp. Back in a 4-3 scheme that better suits his sideline-to-sideline skills, Vilma has big potential in IDP leagues but carries some boom or bust risk.

Robert Meachem has been medically cleared and is "full speed ahead" for the Saints' offseason program, according to coach Sean Payton.
"I've been encouraged with the feedback I've gotten with the way he's running," Payton said. "I think any lingering effects from his knee from a year ago have all but disappeared." Meachem didn't play at all as a rookie, so he had better be healthy. His role on offense has yet to be determined.

Saints coach Sean Payton revealed Monday that Reggie Bush (knee) will take part in the team's offseason conditioning program.
Bush missed the last month in 2007 with a torn PCL. He averaged only 3.7 YPC with six total TDs as the Saints' feature back after Deuce McAllister's torn ACL. This season, the Saints seem likely use Bush more as they did in 2006, with McAllister or Pierre Thomas sharing backfield duties with him.

Sounds like a lot of good news for Saints fans.
