Kalimba Edwards sucks. Plain and simple. I watched him play in detroit and dude LOOKED like he COULD be something, but was about as inconsistent as they come. HE HAD SHAUN RODGERS on the interior. You must not have watched that guy play. He took so many plays off and seemingly once gets down. decides to give up. Like I said, dude had 1 good game last year, it was against Oakland.
Edwards needs to be on 3-4 team, not a team that runs the 3-4 very infrequently, he has no ability to sack the QB from the Line, none. At best I see him as a guy that will come in on passing downs to play end. Is that worth 2.5 million a year. I think not, when you could have had clemons who was already doing that for much less. He is purely a situation pass rusher and not a very good one judging by history which is the best foreteller of the future.
Not only that, by your own admission, your team needs help against the run to return to prominence, it is a fact that Edwards is TERRIBLE against the run.
You have a 3-4 OLB who plays inconsistent and takes plays off, playing at DE in a 4-3 where he already proved in Detroit that he can't play. LMAO
All this spending does is tell me that they ARE REALLY going to try and trade down, which would be the smartest move. It also tells me that they are definitely goint to draft a DT. They need line depth and now DT is the most needed.
