Bears open on Sunday night at Colts

Brian Urlacher will finally get a shot at paying back Peyton Manning -- and have it count in the standings.

Two seasons after the Colts beat the Bears 29-17 in Super Bowl XLI, the NFL announced Monday that Chicago will play Indianapolis in the Sunday night game of the opening weekend of the 2008-09 season. The game will be the first played at the Colts’ new park, Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Bears and Colts met during the preseason last year. Chicago won that one, 27-24.

The first game of the 2008-09 season will see the Giants play host to the Redskins on Thursday, Sept. 4.

On Monday, Sept. 8, Monday Night Football will be a doublheader, with the Vikings at the Brett Favre-less Packers followed by the Raiders at the Broncos.
