I think a lot of people are overlooking a lot of things here.
Personally, I'm pleased with the Bears offseason and think they'll come into this season MUCH better than last. There's a bunch of "ifs" - but I think the Bears can contend this year.
I was disappointed the Bears didn't pursue Max Starks (whom I feel is a great tackle and just needs a change of scenery). Hopefully, they address the Oline with the first two picks of the draft (and maybe even take a Mike McGlynn with the 3rd or 4th pick they have). A Jamaal Charles/Chris Johnson type back in the second would be ideal.
I honestly do not think any QB in this years' draft will come in and perform as good as Grossman can. Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment, but I really like Rex as our QB and think that he can be something this year.
I think the Bears did a great job bringing in WRs. They got a decent cast for pretty cheap.
I mean, you obviously never know. But with a healthy Mike Brown, Dvorecek playing alongside a healthy Tommie Harris, and Grossman protected - I honestly think this team has the potential to be REALLY good. And I'm a minority in thinking that, even among Bears fans.
