Default Steelers dominating the draft!

Lets face it, the Steelers have by far the best draft this year. As Brian Billick said, the teams picking early, with lots of picks (Chiefs) are EXPECTED to do well, but the teams like the Steelers that land great players with just their own picks, late in the rounds, are the real winners.

Rashard Mendenhall, arguably the best RB in the draft, gift-wrapped at #23? I couldn't believe it. He wasn't even on my radar at all, as there are no red flags on him and I expected him to be gone by #18 at the latest. He is the perfect compliment to Fast Willie for short yardage and goal line, and also a great backup plan for our top 5 back coming off of a broken leg.

Fast Forward to pick #53, and you get a guy that prior to being injured was the #1 WR in the draft, and a top 20 draft pick. Add to that the fact that he is an exact replica of what Big Ben likes in a WR, and he falls clear to the 2nd round pick, and you have the steal of the draft (assuming his wrist is ok).

Sure the Steelers haven't addressed the OL, and depth at DL or CB yet, but they got quite possibly the 2 best players at 2 key positions, RB and WR, and didn't have to reach or trade up to do so. Heck of a change from last year's draft where the entire thing was botched except Wood in the 2nd, and to an extent, Sepulveda in the 4th.
