If you thought the afterglow of Thursday's 34-31 overtime victory over the Patriots might cause Brett Favre to start dreaming about playing again next year, think again.

"I haven't even thought about it," Favre said when the prospect of playing in 2009 came up. "I have people - friends, family - who ask me all the time about next year. The answer I give them, which is the honest answer, is I really don't know. To be totally honest with you, I really don't care. What I care about is trying to beat Tennessee."

When the JetsNew York Jets made the deal for Favre this summer it was understood that it might be a one-year marriage, and this offseason figures to contain plenty of drama surrounding Favre's future.

The 39-year-old does acknowledge he can't play forever.

"I know the better days are behind me," he said. "There won't be 16 more years or 17 more years. I'm trying to enjoy and help this team win now."
