It goes deeper than that. Kubiak was also the Quarterbacks coach. It aint just about teaching technique once. It's about constant work. Plus film study. A new coach will run different drills, and teach differently.
And, I would exactly refer to his play vs New England "beating them soundly". He merely managed not to lose the game. Made some big throws, but against a patchwork secondary. He's been suspect all season.
