For years and years I had absolutely no faith in the Bucs. They were a loser expansion team to me... For some reason I just never did find them appealing. I hated the colors and the design of their uniforms. The logo was cool, but lacked that "football" feeling (much like the old Patriots logo, ). A few years before they changed to their newer look (which is very cool, btw ), however, I began to see some spirit in the Bucs.
During the Preseason in 2002, I told my football buddies that they better watch out for the Bucs. They all laughed. I promised them that the Bucs would win a Super Bowl that year (actually, on 26 January 2003). I was never really THAT confident, but I just had a funny feeling about the Bucs that year... My buddies were pissed at me when the Bucs won the SB with a dominating 48-21 score. And, I was happy for the Bucs. Now, I see them as a real NFL team and not just a bunch of expansion team n00bs, LOL
Call me crazy, but I am a die hard NFC fan most of the time. I usually cheer for the NFC team in the Super Bowl. (IIRC) The NFC has a 21-18 lead in SB titles over the AFC in the past 39 years.
There was even a 13 year slump for the AFC when they did not win a SB title for over a decade. From 1972 to 1981, the AFC took 8 SB titles in a decade... and, it was three teams that did that; the Steelers (4 titles), the Dolphins (2 titles), and the Raiders (2 titles). After that the NFC went 15-1 against the AFC. But, in the last 8 years, the AFC has gone 6-2 in the SB.
