Thumbs up Tomlin gettin some love.....

It's from Eric Allen, so take it for whatever it may be worth. But it's awfully nice having the 5th ranked defense in the NFL.

Eric Allen's Top 5
Defensive Coordinators

1. Wade Phillips
San Diego Chargers
He does a good job of matching guys up and zone blitzing. The Chargers' weakness is the secondary, but they've covered it up with a variety of different schemes.

2. Ron Rivera
Chicago Bears
The Bears don't have to do a lot of exotic things because they can just rush their impressive front four. Rivera has done an excellent job adjusting his coverages with his talented corps of cornerbacks.

3. Larry Coyer
Denver Broncos
It's evident they've done an outstanding job since they've allowed only one touchdown this season. They do a little more blitzing than some of the other teams on this list, but they aren't reckless with it and are never left off balance.

4. Mike Tomlin
Minnesota Vikings
Tomlin is a young guy from Tampa Bay so he runs that blanket Cover 2, but they do it more as a unit than the Bucs. This is his first coordinator position and he's turned this into a stout defensive unit.

5. Dick LeBeau
Pittsburgh Steelers
He's been getting it done for years and he does a great job also of adjusting his defensive scheme when needed. He's the dean of the zone blitz.
