With Daniels out, Dolphins shuffle DBs
The Dolphins' secondary has been a hub of activity this week with an injury eliminating Travis Daniels from the starting lineup, with coaches shuffling players to fill the void, and with rookie first-round pick Jason Allen getting his first snaps with the first-teamers in the dime package.
It's a busy lead-up to facing quarterback Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Daniels, a starting cornerback nursing a knee injury, won't even play this weekend.
''It's not happening,'' Daniels said Thursday. ``Too bad I can't pick off Favre.''
André Goodman and Will Allen will start at cornerback, but changes loom for when Miami goes to its nickel (five defensive backs) and dime (six defensive backs) coverages.
