Default Bowden hoping Florida State's kicking issues are in the past

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - If Florida State-Miami comes down to another kick, Seminoles coach Bobby Bowden might as well cover his eyes.

He's seen a little of everything in that situation - and would prefer to forget most of it.

Wide right. Wide left. Blocked field goals.

All against Miami, all with the outcome of games hanging in the balance.

``It's not fun when that happens,'' Bowden said, laughing a bit at his understatement.

History of the Florida State-Miami series - which resumes Monday night at the Orange Bowl - suggests that this year's matchup will be another close one, perhaps to be decided by a kick at the end.

Both schools have to worry about kicking, but Miami's kicker is much better. I would say though watch for blocked kicks, FSU's Lawrence Timmons blocked two in one day of workouts, so that is a good sign for FSU's kick blocking and a terrible sign for FSU's kick protection.

FSU's kicking game looked very good in game #1, Cismesia was booming them "wide middle" to quote Bobby B.
