TEMPE, Ariz. (Nov. 30, 2006) -- If rumors about Pete Carroll coming to the Arizona Cardinals turn out to be true, Matt Leinart would lead the welcoming parade.

"I love coach Carroll. He's real close to me," the Cardinals rookie quarterback said after a team practice. "We've been through a lot at USC for five years and he's seen me grow into the person I am today and the player I am today.

"If that day were ever to come, whether it's 10 years from now or whatever, it would be pretty fun."

Leinart said he doesn't know, though, if Carroll wants to return to the NFL.

I am hearing that he will not take a job if offered to him... They are saying that he would not want to go to such a bad franchise... Not sure if it is true though...

now im hearing that Chargers OC Cam Cameron and Bears DC Ron Rivera are the two leading canidates for the Cardinals job. anything else you guys heard?

But Carroll has said year in and year out that he wants to stay at USC for a long time, and why would he want to leave there.

Cardinals need alot of help and a smart coach...Those coaches someone named in my opinion isnt good enough...If Pete Caroll actually went to the cardinals then that would be the missing key right there...I think he would do great as an NFL coach...And i guarantee that Matt Leinart would be a better QB next year.
But you are right...Why would Pete Caroll want to leave in the first place???

It would take a lot of money to get Carroll out of USC. He's living a coach's dream there and I just don't see him leaving.

But you are right...Why would Pete Caroll want to leave in the first place???

He has been in the NFL before and he turned a good team into a wreck.
