The Cardinals signed a veteran offensive lineman in free agency Monday and announced their preseason schedule, which includes home games against the Texans and Chargers.
Mike Gandy, who played the past two years in Buffalo, signed a three-year deal. Financial terms were not announced.
Gandy, 28, started 16 games at left tackle in 2005 and could compete for the starting job at that same position with the Cardinals.
Gandy, however, is regarded by some as a better guard than tackle, and he moved to left guard after seven games last season.
Gandy said the Cardinals have not decided where to play him.
"I don't have any preferences," he said. "I've played left tackle a lot, so that's obviously where I'm more comfortable at."
Gandy visited the Cardinals early in free agency when the market for offensive linemen was exploding. It took several weeks for the two sides to consummate a deal, as Gandy and his agent, Ben Dogra, lowered their contract expectations.
