FLAGSTAFF - In an otherwise forgettable midday practice before several thousand fans Saturday, Larry Fitzgerald played in mid-season form, catching everything thrown near him.

“He did a great job,” coach Ken Whisenhunt said.

In addition to what the large crowd saw, Fitzgerald has been working hard on blocking and other lesser-noticed aspects.

“When you have a player of his caliber, it’s nice to see him work on the details because it sets the tempo for the rest of the team. It makes everybody play at a higher level.”
