Cardinals notebook: Cornerback play a pressing concern | EastValleyTribune.com
excerpt:
Cornerback play was a weakness last season, and the position continues to be an object for skeptics’ eyes.
New coach Ken Whisenhunt acknowledged, “From watching tape of last season, they were not very disciplined in their technique.
“That’s one of the things we wanted to emphasize this season.”
While Whisenhunt said, “I’ve seen a lot better play from them,” he’s not comparing his cornerbacks to Hall of Fame prospects.
“It seems they’ve been closer to balls. They’ve broken up some passes in camp. The next big test will be in the game when they go against other receivers.”
