Honestly the Cardinals could of survived without Leinart. Sure it would of been a wasted pick but it'd be no different than picking a bust but without the money.
Now do you really think Leinart wanted to go from the #1 pick in 05 if he declared to a 2nd rounder? I mean he already lost out on $10 Mil guaranteed by staying another year. If he held out he could of easily lost another $10 Million guaranteed. Now I don't know how rich his family is but $20 million
guaranteed is a lot of money to just toss away, and obviously money was important to him since Condon was his agent.
So the downfall for Leinart was a lot more than it was for the Cardinals.
But everything worked out, hopefully Leinart ends up having a good career in Arizona.
