Being older than most here, I lived through the first Gibbs era of 4 SB and looking horrible in preseason all the time and all...
but you have a new o-cord and having seen KC play a lot I want to know a few things

Where's the mulitple shifts and motions?

Where's the multiple formations?

Where's the the pulling guards and tackles?

Where's the toss pitches and sweeps?

Where's the QB role outs?

Where's the TE seam routes?

Where are the end arounds and reverses?

Other teams are all doing them...

Sam Huff and Sonny Jerguson have been asking these questions on the radio broadcast the last 2 weeks.... pointing out the the skins are running the same 10-12 palys over and over and over...

It's NOT Saunders offensive play book and it's not even Gibbs' from last year.... Sonny and Sam say they run a ton of plays in practice but none of what they are running in the preseason games look anything like what they run in practice...

WTF gives?

I think it's obvious they're trying to lose to lull the other teams into thinking they can just walk right over the 'skins. Then St. Gibbs and Genius Al bust out the whooping stick in the regular season and unveil their master plan of league domination. That coaching staff really is brilliant, can't believe no one else has figured out not to show too much of the playbook during preseason and take their starters out after a while. Those guys are pure genius.

It's a brilliant move on there part and something Parcells has done for years. All you get from the Cowboys is basic defensive set-ups and vanallia offensive plays.

The only difference between Dallas and Washington is Dallas is executing the basics.

They are hiding the playbook for the games that matter. It's not really a matter of being "brilliant" as SDOGO put it, it's a matter of not being a retard and giving away your tendencies in menaingless games.

but I'm used to Gibbs "vanallia" offense ,having seen this before (in 91 the skins o looked dreadful in preseason going 1-3) then exploding on the Lions 45-0 opening day...

but this is MUCH LESS than I've ever seen and Dallas, Eagles and Giants are running way more plays than the skins.... this isnt vanallia, its BLAND... totally tasteless...

Here's an interesting thing I read in the post:

Whenever the Gibbs-coached Redskins have gone .500 or worse in preseason, they've gone on to make the playoffs. This includes last season when they were was 1-3 in the summer and went to the second round of the playoffs when it counted.

this SHOULD make me feel better.... they have "acomplished" the former for sure, but the latter is going to mean they were playing some serious possum on us.... if so, maybe Gibbs next move will be to the World Series of Poker

No it's brilliant when you can run your base offense, show all the formations, look as if your opening the playbook but as Todd Haley told me, actually only run 5 plays the whole game but make it look like much more by varying the packages you put in there.

Retarded is working all your looks in preseason to see how they match up against defenses not realizing the defenses are doing nothing but playing base.

Prime example, the 49ers in the Dallas game ran 40 offensive plays Friday. Out of those 40, 26 of them were different formations with different packages. Basically opening your playbook to see what worked.

Dallas ran 73 plays, out those 73, 68 where from the same formation just different packages. 2 were FG formations. Those 68 plays as I said was actually only variations of 5 plays.

Bye the way, don't think for a moment I did this research. With out Todd I would have never known this.
