Alan Branch is out for Monday night’s game at San Francisco.
Branch suffered a broken bone in his left hand. The injury isn’t season threatening, coach Ken Whisenhunt said, but the hand could worsen if it’s banged around.
Taking Branch’s place as the backup nose tackle is Rodney Bailey.
Branch is the Round 2 draft pick out of Michigan. He was expected to get plenty of snaps behind starter Gabe Watson.
