Default Cardinals QB Warner hurt against Carolina

Cardinals QB Warner hurt against Carolina
Sunday, October 14, 2007

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) Arizona starting quarterback Kurt Warner sprained his left elbow in the first quarter against Carolina on Sunday, and his return was questionable.

Warner made his first start in place of Matt Leinart, who is out for the season with a broken collarbone.

Warner got hurt on a sack by Carolina defensive end Julius Peppers midway through the first quarter. Warner fumbled on the play, and Peppers recovered.

Tim Rattay, signed last week as Arizona's only backup, replaced Warner.

How long would a sprained elbow keep him out for?

BTW, the Nfc West looks absolutely awful so far this year.

He's getting old too.

Looks like the Cards are out of QBs. I'll give them Grossman for a bag of peanuts?

Warner: Torn ligaments in elbow
By Michael Silver

Monday, Oct 15, 2007 5:02 am EDT
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner sent out an email to family members and friends Sunday night stating that he had torn the ligaments in his left (non-throwing) elbow, presumably an injury that would keep him out for a protracted period. Warner, making his first start this season in place of an injured Matt Leinart, suffered the injury in the first quarter of Sunday’s 25-10 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

Warner, scheduled for an MRI Monday, wrote in the email he believed that through the power of prayer he would be miraculously healed before undergoing the exam.

Warner, a two-time league MVP, helped guide the Cardinals to consecutive victories while splitting time with Leinart before the second-year quarterback fractured his left collarbone in the Week 5 victory over the St. Louis Rams. He was replaced on Sunday by newly signed Tim Rattay, who threw three interceptions against the Panthers.
