Arizona Cardinals sign Clancy to four-year deal

PHOENIX (AP) -- The Arizona Cardinals signed free-agent defensive tackle Kendrick Clancy to a four-year contract Saturday.

Clancy played in all 16 games last season for the New York Giants, making 39 tackles, two sacks, forcing two fumbles and recovering one fumble. All were career highs.

Clancy was a third-round pick by Pittsburgh in the 2000 draft out of Mississippi. He played in 53 games for the Steelers from 2000-2004 and was signed by the Giants in 2005.

the fact that 39 tackles and two sacks are career highs makes a little worried about how he will perform with the Cards.

he is more of a situational player and probrably will be that in arizona as well. We'll see what denny green can do.

Clancy's career is going uphill right now, so hopefully for the Cards it will stay that way.
