Wide receiver Roddy White has yet to live up to his first-round draft selection, but after a solid preseason, the team's top pick in 2005 will start opposite Joe Horn Sunday in the season opener at Minnesota.
Michael Jenkins, a 2004 first-round pick who has started the past two seasons, will be the No. 3 receiver and play mainly out of the slot. He could be deployed out wide in some of the offense's multitude of formations. Jenkins had a career-high seven touchdowns and 39 receptions last season.
"We feel good about the rotation we have," coach Bobby Petrino said.
White had nine catches for 93 yards in the preseason, tying second-year wide receiver Adam Jennings and rookie Laurent Robinson for team highs in receptions.
White has been plagued by dropped passes his first two seasons in the league — he dropped a touchdown pass in a preseason victory over Cincinnati — and he lost his starting job to Ashley Lelie last season.
Petrino said White, Horn, Jenkins and Robinson would comprise the four-receiver rotation against the Vikings. Jennings could also be used in some sets, Petrino said.
