Default Dunn done in Atlanta?

From Fanball.com :

Falcons: Dunn done in Atlanta?

The News
The Falcons may be forced to cut running back Warrick Dunn for salary cap purposes on Thursday if the league and NFLPA don't reach an extension on the collective bargaining agreement, according to ESPN's Len Pasquarelli. Dunn had a career-high 1,416 rushing yards and four total touchdowns in 2005.

Our View
There will be many consequences if the two sides do not reach an extension of the collective bargaining agreement by Friday, but the purge of players, including several high profile ones, that will begin on Thursday may be the one that impacts fantasy players the most.

Do you think Duckett can do it there by his self?

No, I really don't think Duckett can do it. I also see that putting more pressure on Vick, since they know he'll run it, I could see a major injury for him this year..

I don't see Duckett as a solo back either for the same reasons stormdriver pointed out. If they don't get Dunn back, they need to find a competant replacement to share the load.

Yeah we're all on the same page then as I think it will hurt bad too. Dunn is one of the few playmakers this O has and Duckett is not a threat to break anything from longer then a yard.

Duckett is not a number one back and without Dunn the Falcons only have Vick to make plays. Defenses will be able to put a lot more pressure on Vick and this team is going to fall flat on their face if the defense can't step up.

Update: The Falcons guaranteed a $7 million roster bonus due to Vick, creating about $5.25 million of cap space for the team, ESPN's Len Pasquarelli reports.

Recommendation: While it has no real net effect on Vick's contract, this move with the likely release of Brady Smith on Thursday should be enough to put the Falcons under the salary cap for 2006. It was earlier believed that Warrick Dunn might be released, but at this point it appears that he's safe.
Thought this should also go in here...

That's good for Dunn, not not for the D.

No, not for the D at all...I hope they have a plan for their sake or expect a lot of the same.
