Flowery Branch — Byron Leftwich has gone from the Falcons starting quarterback to third on the depth chart for Thursday night's game against Indianapolis at the Georgia Dome.

Leftwich did not practice this week after suffering a tailbone injury during his second start of the season, Sunday's 31-7 loss to Tampa Bay. Since he was unable to go through drills during the short week, coach Bobby Petrino named Joey Harrington the starter on Tuesday and elevated Chris Redman Wednesday.

Leftwich is expected to dress for the game but he likely will be among eight game-day inactive players. Though he would be technically inactive, emergency quarterbacks are allowed to play, as Leftwich did when he was leapfrogged Redman and replaced Harrington in the fourth quarter of a loss at Tennessee.
