Figured this. It wasnt the job he took. He took the job thinking hed have a Mike Vick at qb. Lost his franchise qb before the season, and then had some players turn on him. You knew this would happen.

Acourse, he thought he would start off with a good regular season. Maybe make it to the playoffs and get his name out there. Stay two or three more seasons with the Falcons. Get a better head coaching job else where with a team with lots of talent and become a star.

Petrino got screwed when Vick thought killing dogs was more important then football.... the offense is horrible, DeAngelo Hall and Roddy White are too busy supporting Vick and saying stupid **** and their cap situation is bad....

as far as "he should have waited until the end of the year" yeah in ways but now he gets a jump start on recruiting

It doesnt matter IMO what he may have thought and who left and so forth. The guy was signed to be a HC in the NFL, that come with adversity and he only made it through 13 games.

The players never "turned on him" either. Some of the ish this guy was trying to do was just highschool. On NFL Network they reported he used to tell the team talking was not allowed on flights. He would tell them when they were having dinner to not talk above a whisper. His people skills apparanetly are crap as he quit and told his team and coaches via LETTER.

This guy was an a-hole...

Trust me he would have not helped out Vick. Vick has been comfortable with is style of play since back in college.
