I dismissed a lot of the players complaints too, until Warrick Dunn said that he didn't want them talking loud during dinner. Give me a break! This guy simply couldn't relate to the professional athlete. And I don't buy that the QB is totally responsible for the implosion of this team. They were 7-9 last year and should have been at least the same this year if this guy's program was worth anything, even with Joey Harrington or Byron Leftwich. Heck, Leftwich took his old team to the playoffs!

Very true Paul, he was touted to be a good coach. But he treated the players like kids and his so called "program" failed miserably. Harrington could have probably thrived in this offense but Petrino called the stupiest plays at time. He seriously was never a NFL HC IMO.

The Falcons promised Petrino Vick. Petrino was pissed.

But, that doesn't give him the right to walk away. I have watched several Falcons games this season, and he always looked lost. Now, if they were 13-0 like the Pats, then we wold have a different story.

The Colts game hurt his reputation.

Don't tink anyone could help Vick become a better QB.
Some say he would be a good RB but I'm not sure of that either. Yes he seems to have good speed but almost anyone playing QB could take off when a big hole opens up.

I don't think Vick was going to progress tremendously as a passer -- he could have improved his completion percentage with a simpler offense dedicated to short routes and dump offs (note: the Walsh offense is NOT simple).

However, I disagree about anyone being able to run at the QB position like Vick. Along with Deion Sanders and Randy Moss, Michael Vick is (IMHO) among the best pure athletes to ever suit up for an NFL game. I've watched a lot of football in my day and I've never seen athletes quite at the level of those three.

Thrown into a bad situation? He signed to be the HC for an NFL team, with that and any HC job it comes with adversity.

Face it he couldn't handle and that's it. I don't think he was ready to be a NFL
Coach.
