The Baltimore Ravens hired former Washington Redskins coach Jim Zorn on Saturday to tutor their quarterbacks, replacing Hue Jackson, who took the Oakland Raiders' offensive coordinator job earlier in the week.
Zorn told the Ravens' official Web site that he's looking forward to meeting starter Joe Flacco and working with him.
"I've got all kinds of methods and ways, but I've got to learn who Joe is and what I can help him with," Zorn said. "What I see in watching Joe is that he's got some great, natural talent, and he uses it. I don't know enough about him yet to see where I can help him, but that will come. I haven't even walked in the door yet."
Flacco has started every game in his two-year NFL career and passed for 6,584 yards and 35 touchdowns with 24 interceptions. The Ravens also reached the playoffs in both seasons.
Zorn, who was fired by the Redskins earlier this month, knows a lot about being a quarterback in the NFL. He threw for 21,115 yards and 111 touchdowns with 141 interceptions in 11 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks (1976-84), Green Bay Packers (1985) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1987). He then coached the position for 10 seasons with the Detroit Lions (1998-2000) and the Seahawks (1997, 2001-07) and helped quarterbacks such as Charlie Batch and Matt Hasselbeck develop.
