Left guard Edwin Mulitalo will miss the rest of the season with an arm injury, coach Brian Billick said today.

The eight-year starter tore his triceps in yesterday's 16-13 win over the San Diego Chargers. He will have surgery today.

It marks the first time this season that the Ravens (4-0) will be without a starter.

"Edwin deserved better," Billick said. "But we have pointed out that the depth of this team should be one of its strengths. This happens to be the first real test of that."

Jason Brown will replace Mulitalo for the rest of the season. A fourth-round pick in 2005, Brown has played in nine career games including just one start.

"I'm yet to be proven in the NFL," Brown said. "It's going to be a test."
