I agree with you about a proven player maybe being worth it. I think that Boldin's desire to make $10 million/year definitely plays into things, though. A team later in the first round can likely get a young, big WR in this draft that is unproven, yes, but has fresh legs and - more importantly - won't cost them $10 million/year. Not that Boldin is old or worn out by any means, but his contract price might deter teams that already think giving up those two picks is a lot to pay.
