Raves to sign Pryce
http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/BAL/9302605
Quote:
OWINGS MILLS, Md. (March 12, 2006) -- The Baltimore Ravens reached an agreement in principle with four-time Pro Bowl defensive end Trevor Pryce, team officials and Pryce's agent said.
Pryce, a starter for the Denver Broncos for the past nine seasons, agreed to a five-year contract.
Pryce's arrival happened hours after Baltimore lost defensive tackle Maake Kemoeatu, defensive end Tony Weaver and running back Chester Taylor on the opening day of free agency.
The deal will be finalized early this week, officials said.
Pryce has 64 career sacks in nine seasons.
The former first-round draft pick from Clemson has been hampered for the past few years by a nagging back injury. Pryce repeatedly has insisted that his back is fine, but his production has been declining since posting a combined total of 25 sacks in 1999 and 2000.
After being limited to two games in 2004 because of the back injury, Pryce had 31 tackles and four sacks last season and was credited with one tackle in two playoff games.

there defense isn't dead yet. Pryce should have a big impact on their line. With him and Suggs blitzing from the edges they should be able to put a lot of pressure on the QB.

Dammit, I mean good pickup by the Ravens. They lose Weaver, and next season Baltimore will be like "Weaver who?".

the d shouldn't be the top concern of the Ravens, they should be thinking QB, RB, offense in general

they just signed mike anderson, I know he is like 32, but from what i am hearing no one seems interested in jamal and he is only 27 and could return to the ravens. Collins is most likely going to end up there as wel. He did well while playing under fassell in new york, even though he is definitely not the answer, but could afford them the chance to take omar jacobs or brodie croyle later in the draft. Clayton is a good yound WR and heap is a great young TE. Their oline is still strong, so they might not be as bad off as some would think

Heap is not great, he is good, great is tossed around way to much. Tony G and Shanon Sharpe are greats, not Heap, atleast not yet.

Heap is only not great because he was hurt, but if you watch this guy play, he plays great. No one can cover him and he is extremely athletic and a smart player. He is a special player and you have to realize that he has put up solid numbers with some of the worst qb's throwing to him and almost no WR help whatsoever.
