(Vancouver) The BC Lions will take on the Saskatchewan Roughriders in next Sunday's West Final at BC Place with kickoff at 1:30 pm (gates at noon).
The 'Riders, backed by a hometown crowd at sold-out Mosaic Stadium defeated the Calgary Stampeders 26-24 in this afternoon's West Semi-Final. The loss for Calgary marked the third time in as many seasons the Red and White have dropped the West Semi-Final.
The Lions and Roughriders hooked up three times during the 2007 regular season with Leos claiming two victories including a September thriller in which the CFL's leading receiver, Geroy Simon, caught a . 33-yard TD from quarterback Jarious Jackson with just 34 seconds remaining in the game.
The Lions also met the Green and White in the West Final in 2006 defeating Saskatchewan 45-18 in front of 50,084 fans to advance to the Grey Cup. The Lions hold a 5-3 advantage over the 'Riders in post season play and haven't lost a playoff game to Saskatchewan since 1974.
