Lions add former Bengal to running back mix
The BC Lions Football Club announced today that they have signed import running back Terrence Whitehead to the team's practice roster.
Whitehead had originally signed with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2006 as an undrafted free agent, but was placed on the club's injured list missing the entire regular season. He had six rushes for 16 yards and two receptions for 18 yards in preseason that year. The Bengals held his exclusive NFL rights for the 2007 season but released him last June.
A three-year starter at Oregon, Whitehead posted 636 yards on 144 carries and notched four TD's as a senior in 2005. He also contributed another 407 yards on 46 receptions and four more TD's through the air. An All-Conference selection as a junior, Whitehead rang up lofty numbers on the ground - 1,446 yards and six TD's on 200 carries as well as 44 receptions for another 405 yards and two TD's.
