Default My petition for a rematch!

In my opinion the two best teams in college football should be the teams playing for a NC! That is why I am in favor of a playoff system. That is another thread though!
I know that USC is the number 2 team and getting all this love from everyone but they are not the 2nd best team in the country. Of course I believe that michigan is and they proved that by going into columbus, in that type of atmosphere and came within one personal foul away from having a chance to take the lead and winning the game. Since USC is still playing they are getting a chance to take over the # 2 spot. Another BS thing about college football and the BCS!

USC schedule
at Arkansas Fayetteville, Ark. W, 50-14
vs. Nebraska L.A. Coliseum W, 28-10
at Arizona * Tucson, Ariz. W, 20-3
at Washington State * Pullman, Wash. W, 28-22
vs. Washington * L.A. Coliseum W, 26-20
vs. Arizona State * L.A. Coliseum W, 28-21
vs. Oregon State * Corvallis, Ore. L, 33-31
at Stanford * Palo Alto, Calif. W, 42-0
vs. Oregon (Homecoming) * L.A. Coliseum W, 35-10
vs. California * L.A. Coliseum W, 23-9
vs. Notre Dame L.A. Coliseum W, 44-24
at UCLA *

UM's Schedule

Central Michigan (ESPN+) W 41-17
at Notre Dame (NBC) W 47-21
Wisconsin W 27-13 4-0
at Minnesota W 28-14
Michigan State (ESPN) W 31-13
at Penn State (ABC) W 17-10
Iowa W 20-6
Northwestern W 17-3
Ball State W 34-26
at Indiana W 34-3
at Ohio State (ABC) L 42-39

Floridas Schedule
Sat Sep 2 Southern Miss W(34-7)
Sat Sep 9 UCF W(42-0)
Sat Sep 16 at Tennessee W(21-20)
Sat Sep 23 Kentucky W(26-7)
Sat Sep 30 Alabama W(28-13)
Sat Oct 7 LSU (HC) W(23-10)
Sat Oct 14 at Auburn L(17-27)
Sat Oct 28 Georgia W(21-14)
Sat Nov 4 at Vanderbilt W(25-19)
Sat Nov 11 Sth Carolina W(17-16)
Sat Nov 18 West Carolina W(62-0)
Sat Nov 25 at Fl State W(21-14)
Sat Dec 2 SEC Championship Game vs. Arkansas Atlanta, GA 6:00PM(ET) CBS

Michigan went to south bend and beat notre dame and by a bigger margin of victory, all though points don't count. If you look over the years usc schedules cupcakes throughout the year as well. They have scheduled 1 game in the beginning that others don't do so I will give them that. In my opinion your schedule should be based off of what you do the year before just like the NFL. And everyone should play tougher out of conference games. If you look at those three schedules from this year I will give USC one more game than michigan did as far as competition, and a tie with florida. But the game in columbus should be tops over every other game of the year.

USC:
at Arkansas Fayetteville, Ark. W, 50-14
vs. Nebraska L.A. Coliseum W, 28-10
California * L.A. Coliseum W, 23-9
vs. Notre Dame L.A. Coliseum W, 44-24

Michigan:
at Notre Dame (NBC) W 47-21
Wisconsin W 27-13 4-0
at Ohio State (ABC) L 42-39

Florida:
Sat Sep 16 at Tennessee W(21-20)
Sat Oct 7 LSU (HC) W(23-10)
Sat Dec. 2 Vs. Arkansas

The rest of the schedule for all 3 teams are average teams to not any good teams. 3 out of the 4 games that USC played were at home as well so that has a little help for USC. And florida was at tenn. and that is it. The others were at home and a nuetral site. 2 out of the three for us were on the road! Including the game in columbus. I want to see anyone in the nation go into columbus and even come close to winning that game. In my opinion no one does. Nebraska alone has as many total losses as the three teams that michigan played.

Florida is squeaking by people so I don't think that they would have a chance against either ohio state or michigan. I mean if you go into tallahasee and win by one touchdown, when wake forest went in and shut out the seminoles than you can't believe that you are deserving of the number two spot. And scheduling a 1-aa team, a bad one at that is really a killer.

In closing we should have beat ohio state and we wouldn't have to worry about this but since we didn't than we have to take what the system gives us. A rose bowl is not that bad but a chance for the NC when we deserve it is much better! God I hate the BCS!!!!!

Is this what I'm seeing? your comparing Nebraska to the rest of Michigan's non-conference schedule? Are you that ignorant? or still pissed about last seasons Alamo Bowl? or the Missouri game? And if your'e gonna go down that "could'a, would'a, should'a" rant. Alot of other teams could also make a case for playin' Ohio State. For instance, you state that no one else can go into Ohio Stadium like Michigan did and hang with the Buckeyes. well penn state did just that, only the inept play of Morelli in the last two minutes gave OSU the "W". That's a rather weak penn state team that did that.

I wasn't comparing out of conference schedules! I realize that USC has played a better out of conference schedule. I was comparing overall schedule and quality wins! Those are some of the criterias they use when determining the rankings. Nebraska was on the list of quality wins for USC if you noticed! Why do you keep bringing up last years alamo bowl! Are you living in the past? You won! Congratulations but get over it! Any argument for a rematch that I am stating has nothing to do with last year. I have no hate for nebraska I think the are a quality team. And I am not mad about the loss in that bowl or the missouri game. Neb was the better team on the field for those two games.

I am stating that with all the hype and everything that game meant that I don't feel anyone else would have came close to ohio state! They are obvioulsy the best team in the country and they proved that with a win, that is my opinion. The penn state game was just another game during the regular season. Everyone has those games that you barely win. Usc had a stretch of like three in a row. No shoulda coulda woulda. Didn't say that! Just said that we were one play away from having a chance. It was a penalty and cost us that chance. Not making excuses Ohio State was the better team.

Don't be so defensive when I express my opinion and share it on the forum. Can't we just get along.

Well it appears we're backin' off all that bravado about a OSU-Michigan rematch. Nor was I being defensive, just askin for a clarification of your statement of Nebraska's three loses. as far as your explanation of the OSU-penn state game, everybody in every conference has those kind of games, nothin' special. Michigan had there chance, so it's SC's or whoever's chance to to knock off the Buckeyes.

If Illinois can hang in and lose by seven, come on, USC or Michigan can beat them.

Not backing off at all! I think that every year the two best teams should play for the NC! And I think that michigan and ohio state are still the two top teams in the nation. I will never back off of that! And I stated in the post that every team has those games where they barely pull it off. That was what I was saying.

That was just another game and I think that the Bucks were looking ahead to michigan. Just like michigan was looking ahead to ohio state when they played ball state. Every team does it. The bucks, or any team for that matter are not unbeatable. Everyone can go down.

your opinion of course, though IMO Southern Cal is doin' some serious hard chargin' right now. And I belive they deserve the #2 spot. {And I am by no means a SC fan**.
