MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema is holding out hope - however small - that his team will qualify for the Bowl Championship Series after all.
The No. 10 Badgers finished the regular season 11-1 after an easy win Saturday over Buffalo and appear headed to the Capital One Bowl on Jan. 1 in Orlando, Fla.
The Badgers currently are ranked No. 8 in the BCS standings, which are used to select eight teams to appear in the four most prestigious bowl games.
But the Badgers are likely to be left out of the BCS bowl selection process because of a rule that allows only two teams from any one conference to qualify. Ohio State and Michigan hold the top two spots in the BCS rankings, putting them in line to represent the Big Ten.
