Jauron Hopeful Accord Can Be Reached With Walker - Buffalo Bills
excerpt:
As the deadline date of Aug. 5 draws nearer for Darwin Walker's rights to automatically revert back to the Philadelphia Eagles, Bills head coach Dick Jauron remains hopeful that some kind of agreement can be brokered between the Walker camp and the club.
"We'll still keep pursuing that and hopefully we can make the deal and get him here," said Jauron after practice Friday. "We'd love to do that. We'll just keep chasing it."
Buffalo's Vice President of Football Administration Jim Overdorf has been the chief negotiator with the Walker camp and told Buffalobills.com Friday afternoon that negotiations are ongoing with the defensive tackle.
Walker is under contract for two more seasons, but is seeking a renegotiated deal.
Jauron was asked if he had any reason to harbor any optimism about the Walker situation Buffalo's head coach gave the following response.
"I guess the answer to that is no, but I've got no more reason for pessimism," Jauron said. "I'm hoping it gets done. I wish it had been done already as we all do, but we're working on it. Hopefully it will happen."
