Lynch and Poz See More First Team Action - Buffalo Bills
excerpt:
The workload for Bills top pick Marshawn Lynch is steadily increasing. In just his second day at camp, Lynch joined J.P. Losman in the offensive backfield for the opening 11-on-11 no huddle portion of practice. In the six-play series the tailback had four rushes including the first three in a row. Lynch ran hard inside and bobbed and weaved his way through the line.
Lynch also saw first team action in a lengthy 7-on-7 period. On the first play the running back lined up outside and crossed up the defenders in zone coverage. Losman found him for a 20-yard pickup. He also put a nice juke on Keith Ellison in the flat after making a reception out of the backfield.
Also getting first team reps again in the morning session was Paul Posluszny. John DiGiorgio is still getting the lion's share of the first team reps and has performed well, but Posluszny was again sprinkled in with the starters and unofficially got six reps with the ones. The Bills second-round pick got four straight snaps at one point during 7-on-7 work.
"I know that there are expectations for me to play right away and that's obviously a goal of mine, but the way I look at it is that there are solid veterans on defense," said Posluszny. "You've got Angelo Crowell, the leader of the linebackers. I know that's my job to come in and do my job and responsibilities the best way I can."
Both of the club's top rookies are looking forward to the first pads practice on Monday as the pair have a friendly on-field competition that will resume at that time.
"I've been out of pads for quite some time so it's something I'm looking forward to," said Lynch. "That's football. That's what we all do if for. Paul is going to bring it and I'm going to bring it and we're going to have some fun. I hadn't seen him in a few weeks so we were just getting the blood flowing."
By next week both could be seeing more and more time with the starting units on each side of the ball.
