Why would he not drop to 26, the only other "safeties" taken in the first were two hybrid players, Allen and Huff. He could easily have fallen to the late first.
well Huff was picked at 7, so where he was picked is regardless.
Perhaps another team wanted Whitner-then had to go to their second choice (perhaps a Jason Allen).
Like said before by someone who knew what was happening during the draft (i.e. the Bills front office)-they felt that Whitner would not have lasted any further down (perhaps the Rams?)

Come on! No one here knows what teams were planning to do. From articles I read the Rams and Cardinals were going to draft Ernie Sims if he was to drop to them. Unless you saw a teams draft board, we have no idea what they were set on.....
