No doubt but atleast when someone else is in there we don't look lost on defense.
I'm a little bit higher on our defense than other people are. I think we'll be a bend but don't break defense like we were tonight (but without bums like webster, digorio, leonard in there).
I think we have a chance to get some good pressure on the QB and create turnovers. We'll give up some good yardage though but hopefully hold teams to a lot of FGs (that Walker will block FTW)

I don't think we even blitzed with the first teamers.

I know and then with the second and third team we brought a lot of pressure and I thought it was very very successful.
Kind of reminded me of the Jerry Gray defensives where we brought the kitchen sink at the opposing QB.

Yeah it was a delayed blitz and got to Palko before I think he had to chance to even go through any of his progressions.
He's got a lot better closing speed than I ever expected.

I wish we got to see more out of Lynch. He didn't get to carry the ball enough.
I did really like what I saw from Wright out there.

Yeah he had a series or two where he took over. I believe the Saints had there starters in still at that point. At least some of them still.

What Didn't impress me:
Jason Webster - Out of position, missing tackles, losing tackles. I really don't see why he entered tonight as the #2 corner unless Jauron was going solely on experience. He was giving every receiver way too much room to work with, and once they caught a pass, his tackles were half assed and often dodged.
Shaud Williams - There is now a flame under his *** with Fred Jackson and Dwayne Wright on the team. From what I've been told (and im not sure this is true) Shaud makes quite a bit of money. I think he would be an easy cut for cap room.
John Digorgio - Lost out there, I know it's respectful to give a vet the starting job in the first preseason game and make it "their's to lose", but after Poz hit the field, Digi was turned to depth.
Duke Preston - While it's hard to really get a feel for how linemen are doing when the camera zips back and forth post-snap, it seem he was being taken to on most the plays he was in for
Chris Kelsay/Aaron Schobel - Maybe this needs to be directed to Perry Fewell, but there was no production from these two tonight. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they were taking it easy, and i did recognize there were no blitzes with the 1st stringers. However, conservative play calling aside, they were easily moved outside to make room for RB draws and were responsible for a lot of the large pickups on the first drive.
Kevin Everett - This is his time to prove himself and while he's had a strong OTA/Camp run...he was nowhere to be seen tonight. He was HORRIBLE on run protection and there were a few runs for a loss where he was empty handed.
Impressive:
Sam Aiken - Bobby April will definitely keep Sam on the team with the loss of Andre Davis this offseason. Marv stresses Special Teams and allows Bobby to keep 5th stringers around as ST players. Aiken's play tonight was nothing out of the norm, he has been a good gunner for two years now.
Ashton Youboty - I thought i had lost all faith in him developing when he came into camp looking like he hadn't hit a gym in years. I watched him get burned all throughout camp, and often confused and not knowing his assignments. He still doesn't seem like he'll ever "get it" at corner, but i can't see why we can't work him into a dime role, and use him as a gunner opposite of Sam Aiken. I remember when he was at OSU that although small, he was a hard hitter. That was apparent tonight.
Jabari Greer - You guys may remember me being upset at this time last year, beause Jauron was favoring Kiwuake Thomas of Greer. Greer was clearly the hardest working corner in training camp last year, and this year he's been a playmaker as well. Nothing against Thomas because he isn't a bad corner, but I felt Greer wasn't given fair treatment last year. At any rate, numbers speak for themselves and his two picks tonight at least solidify him as a competitor for 2nd corner.
Fred Jackson & Dwayne Wright - As much as I love his personality, Shaud Williams needs to go to make room for these two. I felt that Lionel Gates was a better option than Williams last year and he was canned, I really hope that doesn't happen this year with Fred Jackson.
Roscoe Parrish - It's no question that Roscoe's role will continue to grow as the Bills offense shifts towards more of a Mike Martz style. Someone needs to pull attention off of Lee Evans this season and Roscoe is that weapon receiver that works perfect in the slot while on the field with a deep threat (Evans) and a possession receiver (Reed, Price). I can't get enough of watching Roscoe. He is so precise with his cuts and turns and that nice catch he plucked up top tonight was sharp as hell.
Anthony Hargrove - Good to see the arrest hasn't taken his eyes off of his dedication to this team, he played some solid smart football tonight.
Trent Edwards - Just like camp, he is probably going to dethrone Nall from the #2 spot
Defensive Tackles - My main concern going into tonight. While I still don't feel settled, they were better than expected.
Paul Posluszny - The best part of my night. I couldn't be more proud to be wearing my new Posluszny jersey tonight. Paul is a thinking man's Linebacker and knew where to be at all times. It seemed he was in on 90% of the tackles while on the field, no matter if it were a pass or run. The other 10% he was within 5 feet and ready to pick up any missed tackles. He executed the delayed blitz to a perfection and he looked like a 6th year vet in doing so. Every single one of his tackles was solid and thorough, and his reads seemed to be instant and more importantly accurate. He just about locked up his starting spot at MLB tonight.
Brian Moorman - Nothing needs to be said, it's almost as if Buffalo is using cheat codes. Perfection as expected.
Everything Else:
Strange that i found it somewhat satisfying when Lee Evans dropped that ball tonight? Knowing how he is, that will not happen again, and i was glad to see it in a game that doesn't matter.
Josh Reed continues to be Josh Reed. Amazing training camp, great preseason catches....PLEASE Josh,...don't go back to the old you and fall apart come opening week.
Two years ago I was yelling insults at Rian Lindell at training camp. I wanted him cut just like the rest of us. He stepped it up huge with an offseason training program and this guy has now been one of the better kickers in the league when you consider the conditions he plays in come November. That 54 yarder had at least another 3-5 yards left in it tonight. I know it was in a dome,...but it's great to see him confident in his work as of late and i think he's riding his dependability in a time of need from last seasons game winners.
