OL Whittle to I-R, LB Harrison Signed - Buffalo Bills
The roster turnover continues at One Bills Drive. Two days after linebacker Paul Posluszny became the sixth player to be placed on injured reserve since the close of the preseason, offensive lineman Jason Whittle became the seventh on Wednesday.
Whittle suffered a torn hamstring in last week's game against the Patriots.
Taking his spot on the active roster is former practice squad linebacker Kevin Harrison to address the linebacker shortage as the Bills had just five on the roster before his arrival.
Harrison is a player familiar with Buffalo's defensive system having spent most of 2006 on the Bills practice squad. He was released by the club in final cuts on Sept. 1 after being with the team in training camp this past summer. While with the Bills Harrison was used at both outside linebacker positions, but was most recently used on the strong side.
The Bills may not be done adjusting their roster. They currently have just seven healthy offensive linemen with only Duke Preston and Kirk Chambers in reserve, and could choose to address depth there in the near future.
