Buffalo Bills wide receiver Roscoe Parrish was arrested for driving under the influence early Saturday morning in Miami, according to the Miami Herald.
Parrish was pulled over by Miami Beach police as he was driving his 2005 Bentley on the MacArthur Causeway at 4:30 a.m., Miami Beach police spokesman Juan Sanchez told the Herald.
This isn’t the first traffic violation by Parrish, who is entering his fourth season with the Bills. The Miami native was issued a civil infraction on May 31, 2006 for not observing the speed limit in a Manatee zone.
The police report did not indicate the nature of Parrish’s DUI. Alcohol is not considered a banned substance by the NFL, but the league’s substance abuse policy states, “The commissioner will review and could impose a fine, suspension or other appropriate discipline if a player is convicted of or admits to a violation of the law— relating to the use of alcohol.”
Parrish led the NFL in punt returns (a club-record 16.3-yard average) last season and had a career high 35 catches for 352 yards. He also became the second Bill to score a touchdown rushing, receiving and on a punt return in a season.
