Default Offense not really impressive.

For being SB favorites all year the Panthers offense wasnt quite as good as i thought it would be by the third preseason game. Both defenses in the game looked really good, but minus the D Williams KR, both offenses looked equally bad and the panthers had to kick alot. I relize that Smith wasnt playing, but instead of Jake forcing it to him all night, he forced it to Keyshawn. Both offenses had their moments, but all together they were unimpressive.

Well without Smith their offense isn't all that great. He is what makes it run at hight speed. So if he had been in there i think it would have been a completely different game.

The Panthers offense is overrated. Keyshawn will help but they are still a one man offense. If you shut down Smith, you shut down the Panthers. The problem with that is that Smith is amazing. He is really hard to shut down. Great teams like the Seahawks and Steelers will be able to contain him though, and in doing so they will contain the Panthers.

Delhomme has tunnel vision. Hopefully like 2003 he can break that though and spread the ball. But yea, the pre-season is showing how bad we need Steve Smith playing. Even if he isn't catching passes his presense opens up the field so much for the other WR's and the running game. Now with Key and a great backup RB incase Foster goes down Smith presense will give us one of the best offenses around.

Yea anemic at best(Fielding you out there). There D played good considering how many times Miami had the ball at/near midfield.
