Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith returned to practice today for the first time since Sept. 5.
“You hold your breath, but he looked like he made it through pretty good,” Carolina coach John Fox said. “He looked good in the things he did on the practice field today. So we’ll just see how he looks and feels tomorrow.”
Fox was asked if the coaches limited Smith in what he could do during the workout.
“Not really; we just put it on him,” Fox said. “Nobody knows their body like themselves. He looked and moved around well.”
Also returning to practice was cornerback Ken Lucas (neck). Both he and Smith, though, remain listed as questionable for Sunday’s game at Tampa Bay on the team’s injury report.
